The spring out was out and about; the times were changing. The once snow covered fields had gone from bare to brown to green. The birds were once again singing and the grounds were alive with nature. For a certain red head this was her favorite season. Spring, right when it was turning into the blistering heat of summer. Lilly Estella Evans; the head girl for the class of the nineteen seventy one class was naturally out and about. Clad in a pair of tan shorts along with a grey tank while a black leather blazer fell a top of it all. Simple, Lilly was always simple and enjoyed the so called boring things in life. Often having her nose in some type of a book whether it be magical or muggle. Since she was after all a muggle born witch she loved all things that included them. Unless you counted her sister of course; Petunia. The stick in the mud who clearly hated Lilly and her so called ‘disease’. Although Lilly had never thought that her being magical was a disease. In fact it was the opposite and she happened to love while embracing that side of her.
Looking back she could say that the last seven years had floated by rather two quickly. As there was only three more months of school left. What was the red head to do after that. Would she return to her previous inhabitants while she was in muggle London or would she do something else with her life. It was the question that often whirled its way through her mind but there was always shadow looming over it. It was no secret in these days about the dark power that was rising. Everyone knew about it and some where even doing things to prevent that man from taking over. A visible shudder always crossed over her body as she thought about who he was and what he was capable of doing. It may be light and happy for nature but the shadow was looming ever so present. Threatening the sunshine that wanted to come in. Lord Voldemort. Would he actually win or was there someone who would be there to stop him?
Reputation. Lilly Evans had gotten a reputation at this school. For being that ever loving book work but also the opportunistic side that popped up every now and then. The part that threatened her knowing of was she good or was she evil? Could things actually be split down the side of good and evil like that? Or was there a medium could you be slightly evil and slightly good? If we were divided like that than anyone who has ever had a wrong thought or doing about someone was evil. Would there even be good people out there? It was a struggle that Lilly had with herself internally of course. Wondering where she fit it and where she would belong in the end. What did the future hold for her and would she like it? Not only that was there some plan out there that she didn’t know abut yet. The one that would be written in the stars like some kind of whimsical destiny?
For now she had to be content with the fact that she was who she was. Lilly Estella Evans; the head girl who had a little bit of attitude. It must of come from that fiery red hair. With a glance over her shoulder she waved good bye to mother nature and headed inside. Curfew. There was always something and with times being as dark as they happened to be getting. It wasn’t the head boy or girl or even the prefects who watched for tardiness it was the professors. That thought almost took the wind out of her sails but she let it be. It was for the safety of all inside the castle she supposed. Thought out the halls and the corridor she made her way to the Gryffindor common room. Naturally a book in hand. Muttering she whispered the password to the painting and was sent inside. Clad in ruby red and gold her beloved common room was. Almost a wash of sadness went over her as she supposed there wasn’t many more nights like this left.
Graduation. It was coming fast and out of control. The future was looming. For now though she was going to put her mind into the fairy tale setting of sense and sensibility. Naturally another muggle book. Finding her way over to that large over stuffed chair she took seat near the window. Where the sun was fading from the sky and night was taken over. The fire was roaring while the night air was clean yet fresh but still the common room was empty. Perhaps they were out doing other things at least she could have her peace now. Slipping her jacket off she sat in the rather juvenile position. Legs over one arm while her head rested on the other; flipping the jacket over her bare legs she opened to her page. Once again she started to read losing herself in the pages. Knowing full well that she would probably sit there all night or until the fire went out. Simply lost and carefree.
